Who is Development Services?
Development Services is a small, but mighty, team! It is comprised of Charles “Chuck” Nelson, Chief Development Officer, and Devin Goodhart, Development Coordinator. As a 501(c)(3) organization, a key component for Menno Haven is fundraising, which is the primary focus of Development Services. In reality, this team does far more than just raise money. The Source for Advancement states, “Development is the strategic process to identify, cultivate, solicit, recognize and steward prospects and donors.” If you ask Chuck, he doesn’t raise money. He says that he builds relationships with the residents and the community.
One of Development Service’s main focuses is Menno Haven’s Benevolent Fund. This fund serves residents who have depleted their financial resources, through no fault of their own, and are unable to pay the full cost of their care. This fund represents Menno Haven’s legacy of care and commitment to its residents.
Meet the Team
CHUCK has been with Menno Haven since 2006. He has over 45 years of experience in banking, financial planning, board memberships, and fundraising. Chuck is a Chambersburg native, so he has strong ties to the community and knows many of our residents personally.
DEVIN began working at Menno Haven as a Marketing Intern in 2017, and he later transitioned to Development Services. While Chuck is the face of Development Services, Devin assists with all the work behind the scenes.
