MENNO HAVEN RECEIVES $358,130 GRANT TO STRENGTHEN EMERGENCY PREPAREDNESS
CHAMBERSBURG, PA – September 21, 2026 – Menno Haven has been awarded $358,130 in Local Share Account (LSA) grant funding for the purchase and installation of an emergency generator at the Life Center, strengthening the organization’s ability to support residents during emergencies and extended power outages. The Franklin County Area Development Corporation (FCADC) sponsored the grant application on behalf of Menno Haven.
The funding was announced by Pennsylvania State Rep. Rob Kauffman as part of more than $1.61 million secured for local infrastructure projects and equipment purchases. Menno Haven thanks Rep. Kauffman for his support in helping secure funding for this project.

Menno Haven’s care buildings are already equipped with emergency generator power. The addition of a generator at the Life Center will provide a central location with emergency power where Independent Living residents can gather and access essential resources during an extended power outage.
The project is part of Menno Haven’s broader focus on emergency preparedness, including continued efforts to strengthen plans, resources and infrastructure that support residents and help the organization respond effectively during emergencies.
