What is respite care?
According to the National Institute on Aging, “respite care provides short-term relief for primary caregivers. It can be arranged for just an afternoon or several days or weeks. Care can be provided at home, in a healthcare facility, or at an adult day center.”
It’s not selfish to need time to yourself, as seeking support is key to your role as a caregiver. The overwhelming daily routine of caregiving affects your patience, compassion, and connection to the person for whom you provide care. By letting us help so you, you will be more focused and reinvigorated to take on your caregiving role and be the best caregiver!

What Menno Haven provides
We take to heart the accommodation of each resident’s preferences and needs. At Menno Haven, each individual and their caregiver are given a one-on-one interview by a licensed team member to develop a plan that is unique to the individual. While Menno Haven typically provides respite services for two weeks or more, we always try to meet the unique needs of every caregiver.
We understand that those who require respite care will need different approaches for their needs, but we still want to uphold any part of their independent lifestyle. Your loved one deserves to be safe and has peace of mind, as do you. We have certified team members available to assist 24/7 residents, as well as an emergency call system for all our residents.
While staying with us, we want respite care residents to enjoy their time with us and be involved in activities if they so choose. Menno Haven also provides services such as housekeeping and laundry, choice of delicious meals in our restaurant-style dining, and on-site amenities such as a barber and beauty salon, full-service bank, general store, pharmacy services, bistro, and chaplain services.
