Menno Haven Health Care Center Ribbon Cutting Ceremony
CHAMBERSBURG, Pa –Menno Haven is excited to announce the near completion of the new Menno Haven Brookview Health Care Center at 1000 Northfield Drive. A private Ribbon Cutting Ceremony took place on Friday, February 26, at 1:30PM with Board Members and key partners.
The Ribbon Cutting Ceremony featured opening remarks made by Hugh Davis, CEO, and guest speakers, including Chairman of Menno Haven’s Board of Directors, Wayne Yeager.
The new Health Care Center will replace the 56-year-old Brookview Nursing Center. The new Brookview Health Care Center is designed to serve 56 residents, and will be composed of three unique households. Each household includes a central living room, open kitchen and dining room with made-to-order culinary services, a large sunroom and a 3 season porch that leads to a relaxing, secure courtyard, and private living suites with large private bathrooms.
In these person-centered households, skilled living services will take into account each resident’s preferences and instill a sense of independence. The household teams will be composed of team members permanently assigned to individual households. This helps to promote deep and lasting relationships between residents and their care providers.
Hugh Davis, CEO of Menno Haven describes, “Home and choice will guide and define our new Health Care Center. We are committed to a “person-first” philosophy of care where life for our residents will be centered on their choices instead of being driven by schedules or routines. Other key features of the Health Care Center are:
- A beautiful Chapel dedicated to worship and ministry
- A self-serve ice cream parlor and playground for families and residents to enjoy
- Spas with jetted tubs and towel warmers
- A large private dining room for residents or family members to host dinners or special events
- A therapy gym and life enrichment studio
- Residential front doors at each household convey “home” to residents and guests
The new Health Care Center concludes Menno Haven’s 5-year strategic plan known as Project GENESIS which has included replacing the original 1964 nursing home, a Resident Life Center, a Rehabilitation Center, Memory Care Houses, and new independent living cottages.
